New Home- Changes and Blessings...

This is sad, sort of like when we moved out of our house in La Grange... leaving things behind. But with every door closing a new one opens. I am very happy with the new changes, strange considering, I have always feared change. Now it seems that I thrive in change... Probably because now as I look back at the past few years at the work that the Lord has enabled me to do, I feel so incredibly blessed to still be doing what I love. I am humbled when others write to me and ask for advice, I try to give it freely and honestly and I hope to continue doing that. I thank God for the opportunity to share photography with each of you who have read my blog and I hope you will join me for a new chapter at the new blog.

Sorry it has been a while since I have updated my blog, I am in the process of launching my new blog... should be just another day or two. I am thinking maybe Monday though as I have several photo sessions booked for the next few days and I have TWO SICK kids... so we'll see how I manage this. I am excited about the new blog though... I think it is going to be cool to have a blog that is fresh and modern and all the things that I really have always wanted JCP to be, we are in the early planning phase of constructing our home and our studio which will be built on our farm, "Blue Mist Farm" in Butler County and I am so excited about that too. It seems like we have been planning it ever since we got married but actually we came out here on our first date and talked about it then even before we owned the land itself... God is good and in trusting Him with every aspect of the planning and building of what is to come, how can we fail? So lots of new adventures coming our way and I couldn't be happier. I will post a link in a few days to the new blog and we will bid farewell to this, my first blog. See ya soon! Jules

Sorry this took a while to get up but hopefully worth the wait. What a beautiful couple. All except for the green tractor (wink) this was a PERFECT session!!! This is the reason that I recommend an Anti-Bridal session, it gives you the chance to get those beautiful romantic shots that there just doesn't ever seem to be time or place for on the day of the wedding. The third image is my favorite!! So sweet. Courtney is still one of the most beautiful Brides I have ever seen and one of the sweetest people you could ever meet, what a joy to work with you guys!!!!!!

For all my fellow photographers out there: I just found this and I am still just sitting here thinking about the message of this. I have been in this same place artistically and this touched on so many levels of where I am and where I have been a million times as a Photographer. I think I am still trying to find my voice even after ten years... I hope this is some encouragement to my fellow photographers to just stop, take a breath and recoup. Take it in, it's great stuff.

I posted this last year and many of you responded to it. This touches me so much. If you have not seen "The Nativity Story" run out quickly and rent it...it is such a blessing. It is so easy to forget isn't it? But the real reason is God became flesh in His Son Jesus and that is what I celebrate, this and every year. I loved photographing back at "home" again in some of my favorite spots and then that evening I stayed the night with Pam, one of my best friends, yes the chef... she cooked me the most wonderful meal and I really miss her cooking... THANK you to EVERYONE who called, emailed, commented, and sent out prayers... I am feeling better. Not 100% yet but I was able to drive today. I still have some pain but nothing like this time last week. Everyone say a little prayer that i will recover quickly, so that I can get back to what I love doing. Yes folks this is my baby... she is 12 and I know she does look 17... she thinks that she is ugly, so someone please tell this kid that she isn't ugly... This photo and the last photo were taken at the coolest church that we found just in passing on our way to a flower shop in Daytona Beach. This church was built in 1929 and it just was so beautiful and old and well right up my alley. It had these iron gates that opened to a courtyard that these were taken in, the light was so unbelievable, and it doesn't hurt when I have beautiful models like Jessi to compliment that sweet, soft light... I shot these in the early afternoon and I never shoot at that time of day but I found a way to pull it off. I think it worked. (Thanks Tonya for the beautiful hair... greatest hairdresser EVER!)

I will not be able to accept anymore jobs for July and August, unless you are a High School Senior. I will be shooting who I have on my waiting list the month of August and then when September rolls around, I will be accepting new sessions. It has been crazy around here. Also if you still have prints that need to be chosen, those need to be done by the first of August. I just will not be able to fit them in if they are not placed by then. If you are needing family photographs for Christmas photos, I will be shooting those during the first part of October only and it is first come first serve. I will not be taking any reprint orders for Christmas past November 1st, 2008. I just will not be able to get them in time and since I do all the work here myself, I just can't do it. If you know that you will want a Christmas present from a session that we have already shot, it would be best to get that in as soon as possible. Here is beautiful Shanna... in her prom dress.

Okay first of all, I LOVE Miss Shannon and Aunt Kay... and I have been on a waiting list for a while because EVERYONE else loves them as well... They are wonderful ladies and I consider them great friends, but it is hard to get in there...
But I have found a new babysitter, Jack started this morning with "Miss Brandie" and will be starting with Miss Beverly and Miss Brandie in August on a regular basis at "LOVING HANDS DAYCARE" in Morgantown, they are enrolling now!!! These ladies are so wonderful and thorough and I feel great about Jack joining them. They are Moms and they know how hard it is to find GOOD daycare... and Christian women at that, that is a BIG deal to me. They have great rates and their Daycare is so charming and kid friendly, I am excited for Jack... Give these ladies a call today, 270-526-5581... Ask for Beverly. I will definitely keep you guys posted on his experiences... it's never a dull moment with him that is for sure. He is growing up so fast and I am thankful to have him...
Please keep the family of Dakota Tyree in your prayers. Also pray for the family of Winnie Wilson, she is Chris' Aunt and she is very ill in the hospital... Thanks guys!!! Have a great week!

Since October 2006...Wow that amazes me for a small town girl to have so many people who have looked at my worked and sent me some amazing comments. Things have been a little crazy around here. I had a huge wedding to proof and then my Uncle Randell died in the middle of that, he was my Dad's baby brother, her was in his 50's. It has been a very sad time for our family. I also want to mention a friend, Kaylah West, whose father Larry Clark died a tragic death and just please keep her family in your prayers as well. Jack and Jessi just completed VBS at Monticello this past week, Jack was way too cute! Also as I put this video up of Steven Curtis Chapman, just wanted to say how sad it is that he lost his adopted daughter recently and that has been such a huge weight on their family... I am putting this video on here because first of all, I love Narnia, and the messgae reminds us that God is right where He has always been, in the role of Doting and Loving Father... I am thankful for that!!!

p.s. Congratulations Kristin on purchasing your first Digital Camera Woo- Hoo!!! I am proofing again this week... another wedding but am going to try to pop in and do some newborn pics this week...Hope everyone has a fantastic week.

Just want to take a couple of seconds to thank everyone who has emailed or called with Birthday wishes... also get well wishes, I have been very sick, but am feeling much better now, so thank you.

Also I want to thank everyone who has sent blessings my way since my friend Tiffany died. It has been very hard but the Lord is good and I am confident that she is in a much better place with no pain. I miss her so terribly some days, but I know that she loved me and she knew that I loved her, before she left this world, that was made clear and so I have peace. Thank you for praying for me and please continue to pray for the precious family that she left behind. CJ, her husband, Keelee her step-daughter... Her sister Carol and her family and of course her "Mama and Daddy"

I have already had some calls, so if you have a soon-to-be senior, this is the time to start getting geared up for senior portraits. Give us a call...
We will be accepting a limited number of seniors this year.

I know many of you remember Tiffany and CJ, if not personally, from my web page. I had tons of comments on their engagement photos... She and CJ, and their daughter have been through a lot together, Tiffany has had some pretty serious health issues and after a four year battle with Bechets Syndrome, this afternoon, the Mercy of the Lord took her home to be with her Saviour... Wow do she and I go back a long way! We have had our ups and we had some very serious downs too. But I am so thankful to the Lord that we, in the past few months got to sit down and talk and we were reconnecting and it was incredible. God's Timing was amazing. My heart is broken but I know it is nothing compared to what her family is feeling now and so please keep them in your prayers at this time. Her parents, Bro. Roger and Miriam Taylor, her husband CJ and their beautiful daughter Keelee. She also has a sister, Carol and her family. My prayers are with you all...These are just a few of my favorite images of her and CJ. I am so thankful for these images of her when she was well and when she was the happiest. I would give anything if I could call her one more time, so don't hesitate to call your friend or your loved one one more time...even if it's just to say "hey, I love you!" I sure wish I would have... I will continue to love Tiffany and the wonderful times we did have and I will miss her everyday for the rest of my life...

First of all for all of you who have commented on my beautiful bride Erica, who I am unashamed to say is one of my favorite people in the entire world... She and her husband Preston have welcomed a new baby girl and oh my gracious does she look like her Daddy!!! I got this beautiful note in the mail right around the new year and I cried when I read it. You know sometimes there are days when you think am I doing something that is going to matter twenty years from now? I got my answer... when I saw this baby, I knew that I had been blessed of the Lord to have had the wonderful opportunity to work with this beautiful family... My hope and prayer is that as Sawyer grows up she will look at her Mommy and Daddy's wedding photos and dream of the bride that she will someday be... Thank you so much for this beautiful card and I cannot wait to meet that baby and maybe take a few photos of her ;)

I can't begin to tell you how this made me feel!!!

Alex came down this weekend!

Jessi's very best friend came down to stay the weekend, we love Alex so much... We had to get some shots of them together and a few of Alex alone. The hardest part about moving back to Butler County for Jessi was leaving Alex in LaGrange. They are like sisters, and it was such a heartbreak, so we were so excited when she called last week and asked if she could come and spend the long weekend...

The BCHS Cheerleaders won first place in the Region 3 KAPOS competition last weekend! This means they will be going to the STATE competition in Feb to represent Region 3 in the small co-ed division. They beat Owensboro Catholic. This is the 3rd year out of 4 that they have went to the state level.

A big congratulations and Good luck at State!
