Happy New Year

Jessi, taken today in our "sideyard". We didn't make it for Christmas but hey better late than never, I guess. It was so cold and windy but sometimes as seen here that is a very good thing. The light was so perfect, I couldn't resist! Happy New Year everyone!!!

Have a great (wet and soggy) weekend everyone... I am going to go on a date with my husband tonight, if we can find a sitter. I want to see Charlie Wilson's War and eat an insane amount of seafood.

Farewell Dan...

when I hear this song this year, I will be sad but thankful for the music and the life of Dan Fogelberg... His music has been in my life since I was a kid. My brothers both love his music and as I got older I became a fan as well. His chart music was pretty good, but it was all that stuff that doesn't get released that is just amazing... My brother took me to see him when I was a teenager and it was great... Heart Hotels was one of my favorites... and of course, my life wouldn't be complete without "The Innocent Age" although I must warn you, it's pretty deep. ;) But well worth the listen. He will be missed!!!

At Christmas time...

It's that time of year again and it seems to get worse every year with the running around and trying to get gifts and the craziness... I love the Christmas music and the lights and the whole commercialization as well as anyone but it is time to stop for just a second and remember that the reason for this whole season in all it's splendor and beauty is Jesus. From the first time I saw "The Nativity Story" back last Easter, I loved and still cannot keep from crying no matter how many times I watch it. And this song is so fitting... Just stop for just a moment and consider Jesus... Merry Christmas everyone!
